My wife, Jessica Yan, is an opera singer from Mainland China. On November 8 of this year, she performed the East Meets West concert at the Chan Centre, on the UBC Campus in Vancouver. She sang with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, performing Western operatic classics and Chinese folk music. It was a sold out success. To produce East Meets West, Jessica contracted with Canton Productions. She and I met Canton Productions last June, when work began on the concert. Canton Productions was excellent in their work from beginning to end, working as real professionals. In particular, the lighting at the Chan Centre on November 8 was spectacular. But there are a million steps in a production of this sophistication, which Canton Productions handled throughout with quiet efficiency and very careful attention to detail. Everything they promised to do, they did. They never over promised and never under delivered.
